Emotus psychology practice has contracts with several health insurance companies in 2024. Click here for an overview. This means that treatment costs are usually reimbursed through basic insurance policy, provided that a referral letter from the general practitioner is present in your file. There must also be a) a psychological disorder that is covered by the insured care (determined by the Dutch Healthcare Institute), and b) an authorized therapy (determined by the Dutch Health Insurers). In one or more sessions, I as your practitioner, will determine whether there is indeed a disorder for which the treatment is reimbursed by your health insurer. If there is no disorder, the initial diagnostic consultations will still be reimbursed. If you have taken out health insurance with one of the health insurers I have contracted, the practice will send the invoices directly to your health insurer. The reimbursement will be paid directly to my practice. So you won’t notice anything.

For health insurers not mentioned here, you will receive an invoice every month that you always pay within 30 days according to the payment conditions, and which you can immediately after receiving, submit to your insurance. Depending on the type of insurance policy you have, reimbursements could range between 60% and 100%. Be sure to check this with your health insurance prior to starting therapy, so you are not faced with unpleasant surprises during the treatment trajectory. Click here for more information.

As for January 2022, the GGZ switched to The Care Performance Model, as a result of which the system of reimbursement by insurers has changed. More information about this can be found in this folderIn summary, this means that care is no longer invoiced per trajectory, but per session. Below you will find the most common rates (as determined by the NZa): diagnostical consultations from of 60 minutes €183, 44 and therapy session from 45 minutes €135, 89.

As in previous years, there will be a limit to the number of sessions, usually a maximum of 10 sessions are possible.

If your situation is specific for ‘insured care’ (no diagnosis), or if you choose to pay for the therapy yourself, the rate in 2024 is €136 per consultation (45 min). In this case a letter of referral through your general practitioner will not be necessary.

In addition, you will have to pay the ‘Own Risk’ set by the Dutch government as a fixed legal amount for all Dutch citizens. In 2024 this is €385.

If you are not satisfied with the care provided, I propose taking time together to work out what is important for you. If you are considering submitting a complaint, please read this information first.
